Description

This is the cover of a Dragon Ball fan fiction I was doing a looong time ago back in high school. It was heavily inspired by the whole DBAF/SSJ5 phenomenon.

This here was the 2nd part to what would've been a trilogy back then, if and when I find the cover to part one I'll upload it. The story picked up a century from where DBGT left off, and Goku JR and Vegeta Jr were of course the main characters. I omitted the Jr bits in their names though at the time, some would likely say no to that, but I just couldn't take such names seriously with the name Jr in there.

Here in the picture, you notice the descendant of Vegeta whom I had in the story get in a relationship with Princess Snake's daughter, whom I'll admit for the fact alone that it's a little bit of a fun Disney cliche, was sick of royal life and fled into exile on Earth and impersonated a human. At first she was afraid to show what she truly was, especially to Vegeta, but, as implied by the moment you're looking at in the picture there, he shows he couldn't care less of the circumstances of what she is or where she's from.

Goku Jr there, you notice he has a tail, and that it's white, but I did that on purpose; that's not an imcomplete piece. It was to imply he was Goku sr's reincarnation(in body, but not spirit. He had his own soul), thus he inherited the ssj5 form. And, as for the glowing bit in his forehead, those are the four stars of the 4 Star Dragon Ball, to further show his origins, and to imply he was linked to the dragon balls, thanks to Goku sr's sacrifice in DBGT. because of this link, he was in turn one with Shenlong, and because of that as well as the darkside to the usage of the dragon balls, he too had a dark self, a doppelganger who would show up as the main antagonist.

Ahh, Dragon Ball and DBZ, good ol' days. I'll admit, even GT had fun times, but in my honest opinion that show was a disaster, and the American adaptation of it just made it worse; the dialogue made that of DBZ look Shakespearean, the music was talentless and juvenile...it just offended me how these classic shows got poorly dubbed and edited by a country that claims to encourage cultural diversity. You can Not encourage cultural diversity by throwing away the beautiful music of these, along with everything else.

(The time when Gohan first became ssj 2 for example, people? That was the most powerful cartoon moment I ever saw as a kid online and when these stupid corporate clowns got that episode, they just obliterated the magic of that period in the story with never ending babble and a pathetic musical number)
